Hyper Tech vs ProCal vs Super Chips

If this has been asked before - sorry.

From reading around, these are the three main programmers (or whatever you want to call them) on the market. From looking at what each unit does, they're all very similar - until it comes to price. I see:
ProCal's / ProCal module for $150ish.
Used SuperChips for $250ish
Hypertech for $400ish.

For what I'm looking for (increase idle, smoother shifting/no pedal lag), the ProCal Module should work fine.

Is there something I'm missing? Other than personal preference is there one that does so much more than the others to justify the differences in price?

I don't want to buy something only to find I'm selling it at a loss to buy something else... thoughts/comments?

I have the pro cal module and I have only used 2 features, that recalibrate my speedo error for larger tires and to turn the tpms off, it wont help your performance, and the aev pro cal will increase idle speed for winching

I bought the Hypertech before the Superchips came out, hated it, got the Procal. Tried my friend's Superchips when he got it. Sold on the Superchips. You get all the features of the Procal, and a power upgrade all in one package.

not ALL the features, pro cal is the only one that can turn off the sway bar light if you have a rubi and hack the sway bar or switch to antirock

You might also want to consider an Aeroforce Intercepter gauge.

Does the tire size, TPMS setting, and the increased idle. It's suppose to do the sway bar light trick too, but they are kinda still working on that one...

And also monitors a bunch of values like automatic transmission temp, coolant temp, etc.

Well just bought a used superchips for 250+ shipping. I hope it's what everyone says it is. Worse case is I can probably sell it for pretty close to that if need be.

You'll be happy with the Superchips.

It's also worth pointing out that the Procal and Aeroforce are not performance programmers, the Superchips and Hypertech are.

I use a Procal and Flashpaq. I used to use a Hypertech and although there is not a vast difference, I would give the edge to the Superchips for it's better shifting and extra features.

Procal and Flashpaq are both awesome products. Love my superchips programmers.

I no longer work with Warrior. I am now working with The FIRM.

How did the Superchips perform for you?
Throttle lag supposedly can be improved with sprintbooster. No personal experience. RIPPMODS did a review and were so impressed they decided to sell the product - for about $300.

I'm loving it. With this, I think I could have easily gone to 35's with my 3.21 gears (I chose 33s this winter). While still lacking power (on hills and such), the ride around town is still a blast. Yes its a jeep and isn't nearly the same as my 300z, but I would hate to always have to drive like a grandma because I don't have a choice.

Fuel millage seems to have gone up slightly, but that's likely due to my driving habits. I haven't played around with any of the different options yet (still using 89 tune), but I couldn't imagine getting rid of it and going back to stock.

Man you have completely skipped the best programmers on the market!

Diablosport Predator or Trinity depending on your budget and needs.

Given you 3 choices I would say Superchip all the way but after running one for about 1.5 years I really felt like I was missing something.

I switched to the Diablo Trinity and have been in love since especially now that they added the Throttle sensativity feature (just like getting a sprint booster)

Best part is the Diablo programmers do everything you are wanting and you will see that oyu will not find a dis-satisfied Diablosport user but you will find people dis-satisfied with the other three you listed.

Did the older firmware version for the Superchips address throttle sensitivity? The one I have does, albeit not user adjustable but just a Superchips set. You can choose to leave it stock or use Superchips setting. Works really well for me.

That being said, I have no future engine mods on my list so the Superchips is fine for me, however, for anyone expecting to run CAI, Viper TB, headers and Catbacks I would highly suggest the Diablo to make the very most of your add-ons..

I picked up the Hypertech when it was on sale with the free upgrade.
Gained a bit over 2 mpg on interstate and auto tranny shifts alot less.
Happy overall but have been eyeballing the Diablo!!!

You smell that?
