Lockpick Camera

I just saw that costal tech has two new back-up cam's for mygig. http://www.coastaletech.com/LOCKPICK_CAMERAS.htm

I am wondering if I can use this with out the lockpick as my current mygig software does have an option for backup cam. Any thoughts?

07 JK 2/DR Sahara, 35" Wrangler kevlar, 10k Winch, Garvin Roof Rack, 3" Black Diamond, CatBack Exhaust, RR Gen-1 Snorkel, too much more to list

I think it will work without the MyGig, but you will need the A/V cable as it's where the video inputs are.

Now back to a 2013 JKU Rubicon with "stuff", planning 37's with minimal lift.

I've tried them all... Jeeps are still the best. (0||||0)

I think you have to have the lockpick to unlock the camera in the mygig unit along with the av adapter?

I just got mine I'm waiting for some more parts before I dig into installing it with front and rear camera's! shop around there are some deals out there make sure you get the latest version of the lockpick V3 same goes for the camera's just about any camera will work as long as it's water proof I found 2 small night vision camera's for 50 bucks on ebay

It is my understanding from many threads I've seen that in order to use a camera without the Lockpick (assuming it plugs right into the back of the unit which these don't seem to do, only the MOPAR one does) you must have the dealer enable it using Starscan...which they generally will charge about $40 in labor from what I've read.

For a little more than the cost of the MOPAR cam / dealer flash, you can get the Lockpick with a cheap eBay cam.
