Switch Question.

Okay so I am ordering some offroad lights
They come with a wiring harness and switch (that is good)
My question is this: Is there someplace to order OEM (or similar) panel switches for the existing switch panel? I thought this is an easier route to go rather than removing my mini cargo net and installing a daystar panel.

The switch that is coming with the lights is the standard illuminated red type that won't fit (without cutting) anywhere.

So OEM switches available? If not I guess it will be bye bye cargo net.

Other factory options.

There are a lot of switches out there to install in different location. Just takes a drill some wiring and good to go. Basically, if there is a space anywhere on your interior for the switch you can put it there.

I got a 3 switch panel from pep-boys in the clearance bin for $2. I use it for my backup lights, off-road lights, and re-did the wiring for my fogs so I can turn them on with out the head lights.

The OEM switch panel has a circuit board behind it. I've seen a few folk go in and put a different switch where the locker switch goes, but as bodybrding said it's much easier to put a switch elsewhere. It doesn't have to go where your cargo net thing is. People have put them on the panels on each side of the steering wheel, the door pillar, on the panel where the window switches would go (if you don't have window switches), on the center console, even to the side of that switch panel you were first talking about. Remember that switches are kind of like tattoos....it's hard to leave it at just one. Plan ahead.

Do a search on the sPod. The quality and design is "superb".

Something else I've seen done, is get the daystar panel, and mount it above your mirror. There's a writeup around here for that - do a search on switches.

No place for factory switches.
The Mopar light kit has a switch that is mounted by the left speaker grille.
You have to drill a hole for it.
I went with the daystar panel and also mounted my CB mic plug there too.
Besides I found that the net was pretty much worthless anyway.

thanks guys good advice!

Seer the tip about "tattoo" switches is a great point I sure don't want to limit my future options. I have an idea how I will do it so thanks again.
