New to the Jeep World - hate the stock radio

Thanks to having some property in Colorado, I felt the need to have a jeep. Which, along with a 4Runner, I love immensely. I do not, however, like the sound from my radio- even though I got the upgraded alpine speakers.

My understanding is that the speakers themselves are decent, nothing flashy- but decent enough. The weak link is the actual radio itself.

Is there such an aftermarket radio out there that will make use of my wheel controls, USB Jack, bluetooth mic? Austin is now a "hands free" city and I have the jeep here until the fall.

Any suggestions?

From my experience the best way to spruce up a factory stereo is by adding a multi channel amp something like this(the link below) adjusted properly will make night and day difference with the oem head unit and speakers.

Yep. Installed a new head deck with the PAC canbus adapter. I added two Class D amps.

The alpine 4 channel (50w rms) power the Polk DB series 6.5 co-axial in the sound bar and the components up front.

The RF amp is bridged to 300wx1 and powers a JL 10" in a sealed box.

The stock deck in my jeep (no uconnect/blue tooth/amps) was horrid. Now it's all good.

I agree, worst stereo I've ever owned. Reading everything online it seems like the head unit will have the largest impact and should be done before replacing speakers. I don't want to lose the steering wheel controls or use of the USB port in center console. Would greatly appreciate some advice.

my 2015 Rubi sounds good to my ears. I'm probably deaf though.

The poor sound is a combination of things. There are a few guys on WF that figured out a $3 fix for the tweeters and replaced the soundbar speakers and subwoofer with ones better matched for the headunit. I performed the mods last week, total cost was $170 -- huge improvement, best bang for the buck.

Look at the idatalink adaptors. Their wiring harness lets you retain your uconnect and steering wheel controls. You can search on the idatalink website for a list of compatible head units. This is what I will be using to install a new Pioneer DVD head unit next week. I can not wait to get rid of the 130n stock radio. Here are links to what you need.

You can find them cheaper but Crutchfield gives about the best information.
