extra power outlets

im wanting to mount some extra power outlets in the jeep for ipod, gps, cell phone charger, girlfriends vibrator, ect.

can i just tap into the existing power leads for the outlets or should i run a new line from the batt or ign circuit? i would like for it to turn off with the jeep.

I would install something like this http://www.summitracing.com/parts/PRF-70203/
or this http://www.summitracing.com/parts/PRF-70207/ Thats what I did in my jeep so I could have full power of the socket and not have to worry about blowing fuses and I also needed power for other things like GPS and my flash light.

Definatly want to run a relay. Both those above will work but you can make a custom one for a bit less $$$. You can pickup a fuse block for about $10 and a relay with socket for about $4. Just make sure you dont go over a 30amp draw and you will be fine. Run the coil power for the relay from your cig lighter and the main power from the battery. I ran a diode between the coil just in case. The diode was about $1 for 2 at radio shack. Then you have a decent supply. You want to make sure you run the proper gauge wire also, but it really is simple.

Oh yeah and run a fuse by the battery and the cig lighter. 5amp by the cig lighter and 30amp by the battery. Keep you nice and safe.
