Warn 9.5ti Gremlins??

My winch has been acting up as of late. It powers out cable like a champ, no issues there at all. BUT it only powers in once in maybe every 6 clicks on the controller. I naturally assumed it was the controller, and blasted it with some contact cleaner, but that didn't fix it. I cleaned the contacts for the controller and winch connection, but that didn't work either. When I do try to spool-in, I can hear a solenoid (I think) clicking in the winch body. Anyone have any advice? It's a MOPAR bought winch, and I've had it for about 16months. I think it's still under the MOPAR warranty, but not sure.

I just saw my OP is a little vague. It spools out 100% of the time when I click the button. It spools in only 15-20% 0f the time, regardless of load on the line...

Sound like a solenoid to me

edited- started thinking about this and I'm not sure the 9.5ti has solenoids.
Could be your clutch not fully engaging. Not sure.

As for mopar warranty, i would just call Warn directly and talk to them about the winch.

Did you have the dealer install the winch?
Was it on a new Jeep?
Mine had the same problem.
I bought my wich from Mopar and had it installed by the dealer.
It was replaced for free since it was still under the 3/36 basic warranty.
Over the counter parts are usually covered for 12 months.
The winch will probably be covered by Warn.
I have Lifetime Max Care Service contract so needless to say my winch IS covered forever since I never intend to get rid of my Jeep.
BTW It is a good thing to spool out about 20-30 feet and spool it back in once a month.
I also put a cover on my winch sice that happened.

Thanks for all the ideas. It was installed on a new jeep, by the dealer. The dealer told me it would be covered by 2/24k, but like owtdoorz said, it's 3/36k. Gonna have the dealer look at it Saturday, because when I went today, there was an issue of the original dealer failing to update the VIN in the big jeep database or some shit.

Ok... New winch on order, possibly installed next tuesday. I'm wondering if I'll get the flat clutch lever

My guess is that Warn does not want Jeep messing with the winch. Can't be much of an issue. Bet there are some good buys on used winches from Warn.
