rear light bar?

Just curious if anyone is running a 10 inch light bar on the back of their Jeep? If so, I'd love to see some pics. I removed my spare for that clean look and I was thinking about mounting a diffused pattern Rigid 10 inch E-series or SR series in the notch on the bumper that's there for the spare to clear the bumper.

It's either this simple bolt-on light bar or having to cut into my JCR bumper to mount some D2 flush mount lights.

Thoughts and opinions?

A 10" might be a little overkill, but if you were to do one I'd say go with single row as it offers a lower profile like the Rigid SR series, Baja Designs Stealth series or even a VisionX. Ideally I'd say something that you can clip an amber cover on so the light could double as a chase light.

If you're thinking of going flush mount in your bumper, I'd probably suggest the Baja Designs Squadron Sport (1800 lumens) or Squadron Pro (4300 lumens) flush mount lights in a wide cornering or flood pattern.

I'm running their Squadron Pro's in a driving pattern on my A-Pillar and the light output in incredible.

Sport

Pro

Sure my rig has seen the trail, but I wheel it like a soccer mom looking for a parking spot at Nordstroms.

Yeah I was leaning towards a single row just for a clean low profile look. I keep seeing more and more about these baja designs lights. I'm going to have to take a serious look at them.

I've been considering replacing my Rigid with the BD Squadron Sports.

If I could see more videos of Baja Designs' light output I'd probably go that route. There are tons of videos on Rigid lights which makes choosing a light and beam pattern easy.

I installed a flushmount in a spare tire delete plate I made. I will post a pic later, it puts out plenty enough light for me while backing up.

Give me a couple of days and i'll do a comparison. I just dropped the coin on the Squadron Sports through Marcus @ RiverCityOffroad. They should be here this week.

A quick and dirty wall comparison. The BD is below, Rigid above. About 25 feet from the wall. Hmmmm.

What pattern did you get it in?

You can definitely tell BD's LEDs are a little warmer color, not as much blue in the light.

I went with the spot pattern. The BD is definitely in the 5k range (better suited to my headlight color) compared to the Rigid which is more 6k, more importantly is that the BD is far more focused and intense. They are definitely a better light for about the same money. As soon as I get the other light i'll mount em and do some output shots.

This is what Baja Designs Squadron Pro's in driving pattern look like.

This is an 8" Baja Designs OnX light bar in driving pattern.

What I've noticed with the Baja Designs lights in comparison to some of the no name stuff is one the color of the light is a little warmer (not as much of a bluish tinge) which is easier on the eyes when you're using the lights. The other is the nice even spread of the light within the given pattern. Some of the other lighting products out there the optics are not as good so you'll get bright spots and dark spots within the area the light beam touches.

I thought I had a pic of my Rigid Dually Floods lit up on the back of my Jeep but I can't seem to find it.

Sure my rig has seen the trail, but I wheel it like a soccer mom looking for a parking spot at Nordstroms.

I really like my BD lights. Here are two squadron pro's in driving pattern and a 8" spot

2013 JKUR 4 Door, Trail Ready graphite deadlocks, 37" KM2's, 3" BDS Lift, Rugid Ridge XHD front bumper, artec truss, sleeves and rcvs with 4.56 gears.

If it ain't broke fix it till it is

For me, the squadron pro's are mounted on the windshield while the 8" onx is mounted on the brawler bar on my PSC brawler lite.

I have a 10" light mounted in the spot you're talking about. I think I bought it on Amazon for less than a hundred bucks. It's pretty damn bright, but I don't have a picture showing its output. I wired it to its own switch instead of the reverse lights so I can use it any time.
