Question electric? what's in the doors?

why are there wires hooked up to the doors?

I have a 2 door JK, there are no power windows, no electric door locks, no mirror defrosters... but I still have a wiring harness going into the door?

huh? what is this for?

seems logical enough, I figure there must be a switch in there somewhere, but a big wiring harness seems excessive if this it's the only purpose.

There's a switch in there mechanically connected to the latch mechanism that turns the dome light on when the door is open. The computer is smart enough to tell when you disconnect the harness so the light stays off when you take the doors off.
