This is where I chose to mount mine.

When I got my 2 meter / 70 cm radio, I made sure it was a lot easier to mount. I'm still working on a microphone extension cable so the mic can plug into the dash in front of the shifter.

I've got the cobra 29 too. It's a freaking huge radio. I'm mounting it on an MPAC jk center console straddle. It'll sit on the passenger side of the center console, it's sturdy, and really freaking handy. The weather and my schedule haven't cleared up enough to install my CB yet, but as soon as I do, I'll post up how it works out. If I'm feeling ambitious there might even be a write up. We'll see.

I have the 148GTL and as soon as I stop throwing all my mod money into me trailer build. My plan is to replace the 6 disc to an aftermarket with Sat radio & HD radio then in the lower din drop in the 148GTL. By doing that I'll have the two close enough to make combining the antennae easy and feed both with the 4ft Firestick. After that comes the Jeepputer, but that's for another post and awaits a cage upgrade first.

Radio shack sells the male plug for the radio and the female jack for the dash. $4ea. Going to pick them up on my lunch today. They have solder terminals on the back. I'm running twisted wire (speaker wire/airbag wire) to the jack in the dash. Should be easy, I'm going to make a mic mount for by the radio.

That way the jack is always tied to the radio and i just plug the mic into the dash.

I've got mine on my Rockhard and there's no problem with the ant. cable or Mic !!

Quote:
Although, I didn't mount it right to the ctr bars, I just use it as for a bridge mount with swivel, so Cobra can be turned 90 deg.

Looks very good, I like that jack location. I was thinking of where to put mine. That is easy to just pop out.
