anti theft starter and fuel pump switches
as part of my antitheft system, i want to add a push button to the starter and a switch to the fuel pump. this way, you should be pushing the button and turn on the switch for them to get power.
i had this same system on my YJ. i just cut the Negative wire of the starter, and then lenghtened it to the cab, where i had the switch. i didnt use relays or fuses or anything, only a piece of wire the same gauge as the stock one, and a switch.
and for the fuel pump, i did pretty much the same, but with the positive wire. i found the one that fed the fuel pump relay, and cut it, extended it to the cab, and added a switch. this time i did use a fuse, but i think thats not needed.
does anyone sees a problem in doing the same with my jk? on my yj i did have fuel pump issues once, i think it was because somehow one of the wires got halfway loose on the switch, creating more resistance...
