It takes 2 adapters to make it work one is the radio replacement interface and the second is the steering wheel interface. Just did mine about a month ago. If you have the correct PAC interface it has an extra connector on it that the steering wheel interface plugs into, there are instructions with the wheel interface to program it to the radio brand you chose. pretty easy took about 10 minutes to have the wheel linked to my radio.

What is the exact part number you have?
C2R-CHY4 requires the use of SWI-RC or one of the other interfaces.

then there is RP4-CH11 which is supposed to control the Steering wheel interface and Can bus interface all in 1 unit.

you set the dial on the side to the number 3 for kenwood and attached the blue/yellow wire to the head unit, right?

When I installed mine, I had to reset the RP4 CH11 unit to factory defaults by pressing the reset button and then pull the power to both the head unit and the RP4 CH11 for a minute to get them to synch up.
