Center console plug

Any idea what this plug was intended for on our JK's?

Can't get over the rust on the mounting plates either. Gonna pull and throw a couple coats of rattle can.

My guess -- and it's just a guess -- is one of 2 things, actually. Either pre-wiring for rear seat heaters, assuming that was an option on a Sahara or something, or for the rear electric windows, which I know are in the rear of the console, at least on '12 and up. Don't know what year yours is, or what model, but maybe one of these helps?

My guesses:

If it's towards the rear it could be the rear power window control connector.
If it's towards the front it could be a 12vdc power connector.

I doubt that it's the connector for a USB point in the console that should be smaller.

Yeah, it could be for the 12V socket inside the console; didn't think of that. Doh!

Not to hijack, but what is the box there that looks like a control module? Never had my console out (yet).

I have a 2008 so no lighter socket or usb port and the window switch plug is bigger and more towards the back.

Other clue is I had to actually disconnect the pw switches to get the console out and the one in the pic was just loose.

The black box is the yaw sensor. Edit-one in pic is for air bags. Thought I had posted a different shot.

Hmm might just have to bust out the meter and see what's what and pray I don't fry anything

Another thought is something for an automatic? Looks like you have a stick.

My vote is the rear door window switch in a jku. Probably the same wire harness on a jku and a jk. When I took my center console out that was what that wire was hooked to in my jku. If you have a jk you don't have the rear doors so no need for the window switch

Doesn't look like the 120V receptacle. It only has two wires going into it (at least on the 2012's). This seems to have 3-4 wires on it.
