What batterys to use?

I am installing benchmark designs dual batterys. Is there a difference with the Optima blue or yellow? I can get the blue at Costco for $144 but have not found the yellow for less than $190.
Thanks for your help.

I went odessy as well but with a Hellroaring system.

if you went optima I would go yellow as well as blue is a deep cycle. unless you run that at an isolated reserve and then I would run one of each.

Has anyone run a deep cycle and a normal battery in a dual setup?
Seems like the optimal setup to me....

Yes, but there's just something about him. Something around the eyes, I don't know, reminds me of... me. No. I'm sure of it, I hate him.

Which yellow? I just searched Autozone and they carry Yellow tops, but say they don't have an app to fit the Jeep.

I bought the Benchmark Dual Battery Kit and plan on running the oem battery as the main battery and a Die hard Platinum as the auxiliary for accessories. When the OEM dies then I will replace it with an other Die hard Platinum. I just can't throw away a brand new battery, Just got my Jeep in September.

The Die Hard Platinum is a rebadged Odyssey and goes for $189 at Sears.

Looking at the Optima web site I get the impression that red is starting, and blue or yellow serve as dual purpose?

Has anybody gone 3 years on the factory battery?

Yes, 3 years last week. Not a lot of winching but it's never failed to start yet and we've had some cold winter weather in northern Canada.

I would re-think the Optima battery...I got 2 years out of my yellow top that seems very short to me. I would recommend the Sears Die-hard platinum they are the same as the odyssey but $100 less with a 4 year warranty and a 100 month prorated for $189.

Who else makes gel batteries? No Sears automotive stores out in the country.

We do have a OReillys, an Autozone, NAPA, and Bumper to Bumper, Auto Zone.

How many battery manufacturers are there?

Optima and odyssey are the 2 big players in off road for deep cycle. You can aways order online!

Anyone got some insight here... sounds logical to me. Considering the "smart isolator" will allow you to run your stock battery and an odyssey battery (for example), I would imagine it's feasible. How does unlike batteries affect the override option?

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.
