Backup Camera

Hey guys, dumb question...
Can I use a good quality AUDIO RCA cable to provide VIDEO feed to a backup camera? The yellow cable that came with my backp camera (for my tow rig) is too short and looks like cheap garbage anyway.
But I have some nice audio RCA's laying around so I thought maybe I could use one of those??

Should work fine. I've used audio cables for video at home with no issues.

The only time that I've had a issue is on the surveillance system at the house and I really think that that was my fault in the end. I have had them crossed at home and they worked just fine. I actually thought that the only reason that they color coded them was for the ease of use. I had my backup camera installed on my jeep, so everything worked together. I'll move it once I the rear bumper I want.

Yes it will surely work. We have been doing that and we don't see any problem at all.

all of the RCA cables are the exact same type of cable, they're just color coded to help with installation

I totally agree with you. The thing is the copper strand are almost the same even the gauge the only thing that differs is the exterior insulator and color.
