Angry radio not controlling volume

Hello all,
please help today while driving the radio sounds crappy while on sirius also when turned to reg fm stations I am unable to control volume at all. I have already disconnected the power checked the fuse and left radio on until it turns itself off and nothing has worked yet. I already spent all my upgrade money on my lift coming in and would like the radio in the meantime. Thanks in advance

WTF does this post even mean?? The radio's volume knob has no effect on volume? the steering wheel controls have no effect on volume?

Sirus sounds shitty because it just sounds shitty. sounds like its coming through a coffee can. Just the way it is. Is that what you're referring to?

yes the volume knob works when it is in the sirius mode and sound is heard, when switched to fm radio the knob does nothing and no sound is heard, also when a cd is put in the time counts off like normal but no sound is heard although the volume knob does increase the "bars" on the radio like normal.

Yeah, you'll get some of that sometimes. I see you're new here, welcome. If I could help you with your issue I would.

Try adding some punctuation to your inquiry help with readability, and as much detail as possible. If you haven't already, try searching, most people are able to find past answers to more common issues. I have not seen this particular issue buy someone who has might be along to help. There is lots of experience here.

Assuming that the volume controls are not working let's start with:

Does the knob on the radio work? Turn off and on? Menu and selection buttons working or not? Do the steering wheel controls work?

If nothing is working, it might be an issue with the head unit itself.

Also, how long did you disconnect the battery for? Leaving it disconnected for a longer time might work (couple of hours?).

Otherwise, that's all I have. Be patient, it's likely that some others will chime in to help.

Now back to a 2013 JKU Rubicon with "stuff", planning 37's with minimal lift.

I've tried them all... Jeeps are still the best. (0||||0)

Thanks for responding with helpful info. I agree my puncuation may not be the greatest. Either way, the radio behave's normally except like previously stated. The battery was dissconnected for only 5 mins, I will try to dissconnect for longer as you think it may help. I do not have steering wheel controls, The knob does turn the radio off and on, and is smooth in the movement. the jeep is a 2010 with only 38k. I have searched for common problems and tried to use tip's/tricks posted by others prior to posting here.

Give a break down as to what year and trim line you are talking about. Does it have premium sound (infinity or Alpine)? Is it base sound?

You forgot to say thanks.

Anyway, the reason I reponded that way was because your origianl post had nothing to diagnose your issue. Your second post did. Post up as much stuff as you can to help people help you.

You dont have a tuner or anything on the jeep do you? any recent changes made tune wise? or it just happened out of the blue?

FWIW, if you do need a new head unit, these non-nav ones can be had pretty cheap on eBay. Lots of guys swap them out for Nav units or aftermarket systems.

^This.

sounds like the head unit but the fact it still works with sirius throws me a curve ball. could be a hiccup in the programming

having programmed BoeBots and hexpods it sounds like it
