Wiring an 07 hardtop on 2013 Jeep

Hey guys,

Wondering if anyone can confirm that the MOPAR wiring kit for 11-15 JKs will work with my 2013 Jeep and 2007 hardtop. Will any modifications be needed to get this set up and running?

It will depend on whether your Jeep has heated mirrors. If you do, this is the wrong PN. QT's description states, "for 11-15 Jeep Wrangler & Wrangler Unlimited JK with OE MOPAR Hardtop & without Heated Mirrors."

If you don't have heated mirrors, the harness should work. MoparOnlineParts.com only lists 2 PNs for a hard top wiring harness -- one with heated mirrors and the other without. It is more expensive for the one without heated mirrors because it includes a replacement HVAC control to supply the rear defrost button. I have an '08 top on my '12 (with heated mirrors) and it works just fine. I used Mopar PN 82212860 to wire it up.

If your '13 was not set up from the factory for a HT, you'll also want to have your computer updated for the rear wiper to function correctly. I still haven't done mine and the wiper will sort of work, but not correctly. I also have a weird thing where very occasionally the wipers will make one pass when I hit the blinker. Not sure it's related, but it could be. Hope this helps.

Thanks Dozer, that makes me feel better that yours works. My JK does not have heated mirrors. So it looks like I'll need the PN that I posted. Will post my results once I finish the project.

FYI - decided my jeep is meant to be a soft top jeep... going to sell the hard top and dump the cash on my loan. the sooner she's paid off, the sooner the build starts

soft tops are very under rated, mine has kept me warm and DRY with a little extra sealing, not as secure but easier to repair
