standard radio adding alpine subwoofer

Hello, I'm new to this forum. I wanted to know if I can add the alpine subwoofer to my standard radio (2014 unlimited, standard radio, not infinity or alpine). Saw that in the back there is the connector for the subwoofer and just purchased a used one.

Thank you for your help!

Hello Guys,

As previously mentioned I bought the OEM alpine subwoofer. I have also purchased a Pioneer AVH-X5600bhs radio, steering wheel integration and new Polk audio marine speakers. My question is I've seen that there is a connector in the back for the subwoofer. However, I assume I will need to get an amplifier to make it work. Can I purchase an OEM amplifier for the alpine system and install it? Does the base model have these connectors, does anybody know?

I really appreciate you guys' expertise.

I honestly do not know. Either way, whatever you find out, let the rest of us know so others can figure out what to do.

I have the same base stereo that you had. I have a nice JVC cd/am/fm deck to go in. I just replaced my speakers with Polk DB series 6.5 co-ax (sound/roll bar) and 6.5 components (dash). I am adding an aftermarket subwoofer setup with my JL 10" WXv2 and a 200 watt amp.

Wish you the best of luck on the rest of your setup.
