Turn signal gremlin?

Not sure if this goes in Electrical or Stock JK, so mods please feel free to move accordingly if necessary.

For the last few weeks, if I go to trigger the right lane change (where you push the signal lever upwards to the first stop and it flashes 3 times), the LEFT blinker flashes. Push the signal down/left, it flashes left. Push it up/right again, and sometimes it will flash the right blinker, sometimes it will flash the left blinker.

What gives? Something amiss with the lever/switch assembly? CANBUS confusion? Operator error?

Darn! I was really hoping you were going to say that your turn signal sometimes activates your windshield wiper one cycle. That's the problem I'm sometimes having. I'm afraid it may be the clock spring thing. Maybe yours is too?

Both of you guys are having multifunction switch issues... the clicking to turn right and the opposite side issues is not uncommon, I have seen it on Wranglers and Chrysler actually recalled that problem on some trucks....

The wiper on with turn signal issue COULD be an issue with the multifunction switch as well, but I would rather know if you have auto headlamps or not... if so, turn that off and see if the concern is still present

Yep, bad switch. More or less the same issue I was having. The switch unit cost me $120 and easy to swap out without paying a dealer/mechanic to do.

Thanks for the info guys. When you say bad switch, are you talking about the turn signal switch? Mine does have auto headlights. Also, the issue didn't start until after I replaced the wiper stalk when I added the hard top. Rear wiper is kinda wonky too. And I have yet to have the computer reprogrammed for the HT controls. Coincidence? Start with a reprogram? Start with the wiper switch? Or start with the turn signal switch?

I would have the system reconfigured for sure, could be the entire issue... a shop shouldn't charge more than .5 labor to do it
