Today, I tried looking at the starter relay. I decided to
check if I can bypass the starter from there. I placed a
B+ (12V) on the relay contact output of the starter relay (K3)
going to the fused output (40A) J17. My guess was this
line would go directly to the starter solenoid. This I did
with the key on. But I was more confused because the
bypass did'nt work. Not even a click from the starter
solenoid. So I guess a different wire goes to the starter
solenoid. Anybody has a tip?
I also tried to remove my WCM but I can't. Do I have to
remove the steering wheel to remove the wcm module?
BTW everytime I reseat IOD Main J13, my Wrangler would
work perfectly. My keyless remote entry would work, and
the jeep would start flawlessly, I can start it/ turn it off
start it again, turn it off again and there seems to be no
problem but once the jeep has traveled
a few miles, when I stop it, the keyless remote won't work
anymore and would need to turn the key a few times before
it starts over. It seems that electrical noise, disable the WCM.
Also everytime I place my key in the on position the red
security light would turn-off in a few seconds. If I use a
duplicate key without the transponder ( The one I use to
open the fueld tank cap) The security light will blink after
about 3 seconds. So I guess the transponder circuit of the
WCM is working fine.
