Satellite antenna, where is it?

I have Sirius in my JK but don't see a satellite antenna anywhere. Does it use the regular antenna? I notice there is a wire wrapped around the antenna.

The reason I ask, I want to paint the antenna black but don't want to screw up reception.

I don't believe that the satelite antenna it is part of your radio antenna. Probably mounted on the roll bar somewhere. I have an aftermarket Sirius and I mounted the antenna on the spare tire. That way I don't mess with it no matter what roof I install.

I want to paint the radio antenna black, but you knew that.

LOL. I went back and reread your post, realized my mistake, and made the appropriate edits. You're just too quick on the draw and got to it before I did. I think the antenna for satelite works through fibrglass and canvas so it may very well be above your spaeker pods on the B-pillar roll bar.
