GPS mount

I got a GPS and really did not like mounting it to the windshield. I bought a bracketron bracket and GPS holder but it was to big and bulky. I just cut the sucktion cup off the bracket that came with the TOMTOM and drilled to holes and mounted it to the bracketron bracket. Much cleaner look.

I would like to hard wire mine in also but I disconect it all the time to get the updates on the internet. I guess that would not not matter though. I have the wires tucked in on the sides of the dash. The hide pretty well there.

Here's what i did for wiring.
1. Splice an extra 12V plug into the stock lighter wires behind the dash.
2. Plug the GPS lighter charger into that, and hide it all behind the dash.
3. Run the other end up out of the top center console to the unit sitting on the dash above the wheel. That is the only wire I see.
4. If I use it in another vehicle (rare), I just unplug the unit and use the computer cord with a USB/12V adapter, along with the suction mount.
