Headlight wiring harness--building one

I've read some threads on upgrading the dismal stock headlights. I need to do something and I want to do it right. Some are replacing the entire headlight unit and building their own wiring harness. That's where I need the help.

How do I do that? I don't want to make a mistake and fry something. Any instructions out there...with pics?

Thanks.

I made my own, I went a little over the top and ran all the relays for highs, lows, fogs on the bumper and then fogs on the windshield, all done in different colored heat shrink. I advise you if you want to save money and time get one off ebay for 30 bucks, I have at least that much in the shrink tubing.

i built one from scratch, definitely cost me a pretty penny, but it is heavy duty and has enough power to power 85W bulbs in my headlight housings

danielsternlighting.com is the source for this, he helped me build mine and i got all the parts from him
