I've read this before a couple years ago. I read different feedback on that complicated step-by-step procedure. I also found another thread that identifed a wire running through the console... cut it, installed a NC switch, and when I want to slide it around in the snow I flip the switch opening the circuit. Doing so disables the system, but... other warning lights illuminate which may you feel uneasy. Never had a problem. Once the the switch is reset to close the circuit, the ignition shut off and restarted... all is reset.
Just a shame I don't see too much snow here in northern Texas. Snowed earlier this week, but didn't stick to the ground.
