cloudy hella black majics???

well I have to give it to hella for customer service. I originally got them back at the end of 04 when I put the front bumper on the dodge that I had, well I don't know when it happened and thought it was due to all of the high water that I used to drive through but the became milky and I tried everything to get them to be clear, alcohol, you name it. well they have been sitting around for at least 2 years in the garage and with all this free time (laid off since feb) im finally working my way down the project and or need to do list so I called hella for the hell of it just to see if they had any other ideas of how to clean it and he said try isopropyl alcohol and if it doesn't work to call him, didn't work, called him and the response was that the glue they used for a period of time offgassed and caused the milky film on the inside of the glass and they would send me replacement lenses. well they have beenwaiting on them back order scenario stuff and after about 4 to 6 weeks I look on the porch and they showed up. now my real excitement was that they sent a whole new set up housings and all! woohoo! the old housings were a little faded (4years old). all of this and no reciept and I didn't have to ship them back so im thinking of tossing them in the oven to take them apart and try to clean or polish them back to normal and using them, how do you think they will look peeking around the spare on the shrockworks tire carrier working off of the reverse lights and also a switch??? I bet i'll change some tailgatters or high beam drivers perspective rather quickly! sorry if this is run on and such, excited, free jeep mod for the unemployed! and my hardrive is defragmenting so im on my cell, if anyone has these or other hella lights and the iso alcohol doesn't work hit me up and ill give you the guys direct line.

I used to have the black magic lights on my Explorer back in the day and had the same problem. They were milky looking, especially when I had them turned on. I tried cleaning them with alcohol, etc just like you and nothing made them better. If I still had those lights I would definitely be interested in another set but the H2 bulbs were weird and I opted for other kinds.

There are polishes made specifically for clearing up fogged lights. I've never used one myself though.

Well thats some customer service right there!

Its great when a company goes out of their way to help you out.
I'v had similar experiences with rugged ridge and shrockworks.

Yes, but there's just something about him. Something around the eyes, I don't know, reminds me of... me. No. I'm sure of it, I hate him.

Cool, Nice to hear of great service. I am running them on my windshield mounts and love them. I did buy the 100 watt bulb and replaced the 55. works great you should try it. They are brighter than hell!!
