Question about sub install

Hey everyone, I couldn't find anyone answering this, but I have a 2007 jku with the infinity sound system, so I have the stock sub in the rear. If I wanted to add my own sub and amp, could I keep my stock infinity sub as well as running my sub and amp? Or do I need to remove the stock one in order to do this? I'm sure I'll have more questions about it as comments come in, but thanks for any help you have

It might be just easier to do your own set up. Instead of piggybacking subs on the stock sub that might get overloaded.

So if I used my own amp and sub as well as keeping the stock sub how would I run this? While still keeping my stock head unit? Or would it be best to just replace my stock sub?

Iv never delt with that. Sounds like stuff could get messed up. I would replace stocks with news to be safe.

you could run both subs but IMO it's not worth it

I just installed an amp and sub in mine. you will need to get a converter that splices to your rear speaker wires and converts that to a pre amp RCA jack. Then you hook up your amp and sub as normal. Everything else stays stock.
