Wipers went on the fritz

It's raining in Atlanta today and I was driving over to a friends and had the wipers on Intermittent. Then I noticed that they were on all the time. If I shut them off, they stopped right where there were and didn't go back to the bottom of the windshield. If they were on Intermittent, it was like they were on Low (all the time). High worked like it should.

I had my GPS plugged in the Power Outlet (right). When I removed the plug for the GPS and put it in the other outlet, the wipers worked normal.

Weird shi!t.

I haven't heard of that one. Gotta love CANbus.

I started the Jeep once and tried to roll the pw down at almost the same time. The windows stopped responding and I had to turn it off and back on before they would work again.

GTFOH! I'm having a very similar issue with my wipers.....
i'm just not sure about the plug bit
dealer has replaced the combination switch twice now and installing another new wiper motor on monday
after picking it up yesterday i noticed the steering wheel lock no longer worked and the key tumbler/ignition was hard to turn!
i'm not happy at all about some hack tearing my SH&% apart!
they just seem to compound the original problems more often than fixing them

I'm having the same issue. It doesn't rain here much, but I'm getting better at timing the stop.

My rear wiper works once in a while... not very often... If I leave it on every blue moon it will turn on. I hooked up some 12V direct power to the motor and that works fine. Guess it's the switch.

My 07 started doing this at 39k

I've never figured out what it was, so I just time the switch to stop them at the bottom.

OK, now the wipers are full time fawked up.

I used Mist this morning to wipe some water off of the windshield and the wipers wouldn't stop! No matter what I did with the switch. I shut the engine off at a stop light and turned it back on. Now they work but if I shut them off, they stop right where they are. Also, the intermitent doesn't work again.

Did British Leyland or Lucas design the CANBUS? I went through that BS years ago with my MGB.

like I said the clockspring and SCM control that, unless you have short or bad ground in the wiring.

as I started reading this thread that is the same thing that came to mind.

My first bet would be on the clockspring as well. However, with this canbus **** I suppose it could be just about anything.

For those of you that have had other components replaced, have they replaced your clockspring yet?

I was wondering for the one that was having issues with the ignition afterwards if they had opened up your coloumn and took a look.

Have any of you had issues with cruise control? Airbag lights?
