Opinions vary on the best location, but the best mic is definitely the Mopar one.

I purchased the AllGig USB from Nav-tv and there mic works great. I have never had anyone complain when I'm using it about any kind of background noise. Ref location I think you have to figure out what works best for you.
I have a daystar dash cover and I keep mine clipped to it on the driver side.

Same, Same. Very clean, crisp, no complaints from others. Probably the most expensive of all available mics but the best. $99.99

I have the All Gig Nav-TV mic and cannot recommend it. For $ 99 I would expect close to perfection. Way too many times I've had to transfer to the phone because the caller on the other end cannot understand me, then have them tell me they can now hear me just fine.

It is located at the top left corner of the dash/radio area. Good location. I have a hard top so no big noise issues. It just picks up way too much background noise. It's been that way for as long as I've used it (maybe 9 months).

Issues happening with the Allgig also, though overall I'm very pleased with it. I need to call them for a consult.
