CB antenna in stock location

I dont listen to AM/FM so I have no need for the stock antenna. Has anyone put their CB antenna in the stock radio antenna location?

Marc

Sorry dude, I got nothin'.... what I will say is that I like mine mounted in the back - my tire carrier has an antenna mount.... for a stock setup I know that teraflex makes a good mount.... the cooltech mount is nice but I have seen more than one ripped off on the trail, and it usually damages the LP mount as well. My antenna is torn to chit after just a few trail runs, I can replace the antenna with a cheapo from Fry's (~$10) and drive on. I don't know of anyone who has one mounted where the stock radio antenna is mounted. I remember seeing it somewhere but cannot remember where. Hopefully a board member will chime in with some advice... .

I dont think the sheet metal on the fender will hold up too well with a bulky cb antenna so unless you find a small whip I wouldnt use the stock location, but that is my opinion.

Don't have anything on the stock location.

But I wanted to chime in on the Cooltech mount. I've got the LP mount and I like it. I appreciate the height savings over the spare mount. Just use some common sense and keep an eye on it on the trail. I wheel in heavily wooded areas and haven't broken it yet.

That said, Cooltech also makes a good, sturdy spare tire mount as well.
