Question power to engine bay

Two questions.
How are you guys running your power from the cab to the engine bay? Does a good hole exist?
How does the plastic flat piece that is between the door and the dash come off? If I recall correctly on the passenger side someone ran wire through a hole that was behind there.

That plastic panel pops off with a flat screwdriver. Pretty easy to remove.
