More VisionX woes

Awhile back I posted pics of my VisionX Xmitter light bars and their condensation problems (https://www.jkowners.com/forum/showthread.php?t=49349) . Now I notice my reverse light, a VisionX solstice solo, also has condensation inside (pic below). Clearly this issue is not restricted to a single product line or one bad batch as I was told by the company. Really unbelievable given the price their products command compared to the competition. Needless to say I will be replacing with Rigid!

I've run Vision-X with no issues for a while now, mostly outside, water crossings, etc. Feedback I've gotten from those I've sold to has been nothing but positive.

I know it's unlikely, but I've heard of people being winners of the lottery multiple times and unfortunately your luck has been the opposite of that? Everything I've seen is that they have a great quality product.

I don't think you bought from us, but I'd be more than happy to contact them on your behalf and get this taken care of for you if you want to PM me your info.

Unsat... I am >< this close to buying one of those to use as a back up light. The lights that I have in my bumper (cheapOs) are junk and I need more light to the rear.

I know. The only thing I can think is that I live at altitude (near 8000ft) and maybe the seals don't hold up? I have six VisionX light bars and the replacement Xmitter Elites appear to be fine. Very generous for you to offer help as I did not buy from you, but I hesitate to go back through the manufacturer as last time they made me pay (at cost) for the replacements. I'll PM you anyways to see where it goes.

Yeah, I was real disappointed in the solo's, rigid dually's are the same price a bit bigger but they do put out more light. Im not cracked out over either though as I installed the rigid 10"specter and I have not been overly impressed with it either. My hella black magics with 100 watt bulbs seem too offer a great deal more distance and light. I'm going to try to mount it higher to see if that helps but as far as the led cool factor is definitely loosing me as a proponent.

2008 JK 4Dr Rubicon
Stone white
Mygig W/Uconnect working.
Hard top/Auto tranny
First mod, dog slobber.
Painted hard top
Spidertraxx 1.5 spacers
Teraflex 3" lift
Currie front lower control arms
JKS front and rear adj. track bars
Euroefx HID kit, high/low beam and fogs
Shrockworks rear full width, tire carrier

Post count from the "other" place when i was following the "herd" was 692 on 4-2-09, not a noob...

Hey rob...I hear ya. I modded my Black Magics with a Hid kit and was disappointed with the delay in startup, but happy with the light. I guess I should have just switched out the 50w bulb for a 100. I really splurged on JW Speaker LED headlights, but again was burnt with condensation (https://www.jkowners.com/forum/showthread.php?t=69864). However, they immediately sent out replacements with a new design with no questions asked, which made me feel better. Bottom line for me is that adoption of LED has been a struggle, and an expensive one at that..

I feel for you Vince. I had the same xmitter light bars that did the same. Have had the powder coating peal off my S4100's. Slowly changing everything to Rigid

Ugg. I knew I wasn't the only one! Anyways, Chris from Jeepaddons went way out of his way to get a return authorization from VisionX for me. Remember, I did not order these from him, but he got involved after reading my post just to help out. What a great vendor! I sent the damaged light back to VisionX and all they did was wipe it dry, reseal it, and send it back. In the past, both Hella and JW Speaker have sent me new replacement units when I've had issues, but this is the way VisionX works if any of you ever decide to buy their junk. I went ahead and replaced this light with a Rigid Dually. Maybe I'll make a flashlight out of the Solo, as I don't want it on my Jeep.
