My first dirty laundry post.

MMMkay. I understand that people pay to have the crap that pops-up on JKO below the posts, and I thought this one was just one of the many. But in the last few minutes I have had an Obama 2012 pop-up slap me in the face 6 times. I even refreshed the screed a couple times to see if something else would pop up ...NOPE!! Either Mr. or Mrs. O staring back at me from the bottom of a JKO post. Has my computer turned socialist, or is this a Canadian administered conspiracy? It's a paid ad, fine. But 6 times in the span of a few minutes, and repetitively? ...really? Seems a bit off to me.

EDIT: ...it pops-up every time I search or refresh. This is ridiculous.

...and no, I do not like Barry O.

So here's my ad:

RON PAUL 2012

Rock on beer party nation!!!!

I'm glad I don't have to see that Obama shit all over the forum. Tapatalk for the win.

Makes me wonder if they plastered Romney ads all over the Prius forum...

A Pop Up?? Or the banner ad at the bottom of the page?? You shouldn't be seeing any pop ups.

This site does not have Pop ups. You must have spyware from the porno sites you visit.

I have visited JKO logged in and not logged in on the following - Firefox, Chrome, IE7, Safari, and the Android Webkit browser and have not seen this pop up ad business. All of those were in stock form with no additional protection from add-ons. It's just weird I tell you...

That's because JKO doesn't have pop ups.

These are google ads or double-click ads... they use an interesting algorithm that looks at the the page your on, your cache, and several other items and then it decides what ad to put there. JKO has nothing to do with it other than they allow google to place ads there.

You're seeing Barry because you're on a page talking about him, and/or have been on other sites talking about him.

Stop talking politics and you won't have this problem.

I do frequent a few .gov and political sites, so maybe that's it.

Maybe it's a daily quirk, cause this morning it's been nothing but Fois and K&N.

Mine are always odd, every time I get a new client, I do heavy research on the industry they're in... usually my ads will reflect that industry, currently I see a lot of home building ads.

Mine have all been UPS lately, as I've been avoiding actual shopping like the plague and just ordered almost all Christmas presents online, and tracking when they'll show up at the office.

Ok, evidently I'm spending too much time on here reading lately. All I'm getting are chrysler, jeep, toyota, and offroad parts store ads.

Evidently their algorithm isn't smart enough to figure a jeep owner does not own yotas.

'08 unlimited rubicon with mopar offroad bumpers, warn winch, and gobi roof rack. Who needs more? Now wants more....on the other hand...

I usually get Prius and Jeep Patriot ads, neither vehicle have I ever (nor will I ever) research in any capacity!!!

But hey, as long as those ads stay unobtrusive and keep this great site going, it's all good!!!

As stated, the Google ads try to target what it thinks you're interested in based on your browsing history.

Think of it this way... If you hate Obama, his campaign is wasting money paying to display you and people like you ads.

I keep getting the bottom-screen banner for a 2012 Toyota Camry. A Camry! A refrigerator on wheels. The automotive equivalent of a lobotomy. As exciting as watching paint dry. All the personality of a box full of doorknobs. The car that makes you feel dumber just looking at it. One of the last cars on planet earth that I would put in my garage.

I don't know how that targeted ads piece works....but apparently not well!

A society that puts equality before freedom will get neither. A society that puts freedom before equality will get a high degree of both.
