Wheel made in China?

I was rotating my tires the other day and was startled to note the wheels are made in China.

I don't remember China mentioned on the content blurb on the window sticker.

Pretty lame that an American icon rolls on imported wheels.

Ownership is a little different. The Jeeps are assembled here by American workers, so the wages they make stay here. I think thats large portion of the cost.

Yeah I noticed that a while ago. The Jeep came with the 16" alloy wheels made in Brazil. Later I bought these wheels and tires (Sahara painted Moab with Rubi MT) and they were made in China.

Probably 99% of aluminum wheels are made in China. All OEM aluminun wheels are Chinese. Even many brands considered high-end like Walker Evans, KMC, Spyder locks, American racing, and raceline are Chinese.

Trailready HDs, 100% made in the USA baby!

so are you going to make a point or just keep being argumentative?

No. The statement you made was false. Call it argumentative if you want, but it still doesn't make it accurate.

I was going to comment that surely a few aluminum wheels were still made in the US - Alcoa for example.

But in looking at their website I found no overt referece to Made in the USA. And you would think they would put that front and center if it were the case.
