Back Order

I know this has been discussed before but Ö. The way these web sellers are set up they have no idea what they have in stock. Iím sure a lot of their business is based on drop shipping. But if they would just spend some time and money on computer software the buyer could be aware if the merchandise is indeed in stock immediately, NOT JUST TOLD BY A COMPUTER THAT IT IS IN STOCK. So you place the order believing everything is in stock. Then several days later you get it. The Backorder E-Mail. This has just happened to me twice, screwed by two companies. The names are not important as all e-sellers do this. If I ran my business like this I would be out of business. The thing that gets me the most is that the technology exists to fix it.
That is all.

I can understand the frustration in that, but if it is something that I know I'm gonna need, the phone is your friend.

Here is a quite funny little story about somebody that ordered something on the internet and got all butt-hurt over it, then it blew up in his face. Not that it applies to you, but this is funny shit.

Yeah, well, major retailers have that issue also. My story:

I have been looking for a 102" whip antenna for the CB for awhile (mostly online, but did not want to order it online) when I found one (while looking online, go figure) at Radio Shack. The website has a search local inventory option, so I used that and it showed two (one each at two different stores) in my area. So, while I was out yesterday, dropped by one of those stores that the online system showed had inventory.... and no antenna. The owner (a really nice guy, Australian import) ordered one for me, online, to be shipped to the house.

So having it in a computer does not necessarily mean reality will match what the computer deems it to be. There is a much better chance that it will be true, but still no guarantee.

Don't worry, we feel your frustration as well. When a customer calls or stops in the shop we always check stock with our suppliers long before the order is ever finalized. That way the customer knows it's available and we can give them a 99% accurate timeframe to expect it.

Shops typically don't stock much so we rely on the manufacturers or WD's to house the literal thousands of part numbers. When they are low or out of stock even we don't get notified.

So - at the end of the day - we suggest you pick up the phone and give us a call. That way we can:
1. Make sure the part you are interested in is even right for your rig.
2. Make sure you know all your options.
3. Answer any questions you have.
4. Check stock for you.
5. Place the order.

If you still want to order it over the internet after the phone call then more power to you - we'll even follow up with a phone call or email making sure evertying went smoothly.
