Here I am reviving old threads again...
I have had my front end rebuilt once and the rear end rebuilt twice in the last year.... because the lockers quit working. There was a design change in the differential after the 2007MY so they had to replace the ring and pinion along with the locking mechanism the first time. The second rear end failure I think was a result of a poor installation when they rebuilt it last year. When I went in with the complaint the locker wasn't working. Again. They disassembled the rear end. Again. Said there were lots of little metal parts in the oil. So, yet another ring and pinion and bearings and lock kit and I am back on the road.
So far, all of that covered under the extended warranty for the $100 deductible. BUT, there will come a time in the future when I might be looking for one of those ring gears for a reason..... or I might be one stating FREE 4.10 ring and pinion sets. Any takers? heh.
