Shittybilt Tire Carrier

When I have a tire on my Shittybilt XRC tire carrier... and hit a bump... it sounds like its going to rip the tub off my JK!!! I have tightened it so tight that I can barely open it.
Has anyone experienced this? Fixed it?

Thanks.

I got one, I haven't had a problem with mine yet, (knock on wood), does it move around when it's opened, you know sounds like the bushings are gone in it.

The sides of the rear bumper are hitting the tub. Look under the tub by the rear bumper for marks. A 1 inch body lift will get the tub away from the bumper.

Just great! Smittybilts bumper ad should include a warning "due to the extreme flex of our rear steel* bumper a 1inch body lift may be required so that the ends of the bumper won't beat the shit out of your tub when hitting a bump". I have a fear of anything that has a Smittybilt or Rugged Ridge sticker on it. Maybe you can take the bumper to a local welder and have some braces welded to the inside to stop the flex.

Contact Ray at Smittybilt. He's been helpful with the issues I've had.
