Thumbs down P0303

So I got a check engine light P0303 random misfire cylinder # 3. I have a lifetime powertrain warranty, so I took the jeep into the stealership for a tune-up and oil change. They suggest that they should diagnose the problem and the fee for that would go toward the repairs. Sounds reasonable. This was when they opened at 8 AM. They called me at 5 PM to tell me that the problem was not electrical or fuel related. Most likely a valve problem and they would do a leak down test on Monday to see if it was valves or lower end. Starting to sound expensive..... But I made them aware that my 08 had a lifetime powertrain warranty. On Monday they found that the problem was just a bad plug wire so they did the tune-up I had originally requested. They did replace the intake manifold gasket under warranty to fix some seepage of the coolant.

What to you want to bet that if I did not have the warranty they would have sold me an unneeded valve job?

Usually for something that expensive, it's worth getting a second opinion.
