Steel Braided Brake lines 4-6" lift Rough Country

So I've been helping out my neighbor install all his aftermarket JK needs.

It started with Control Arms, then springs. Since then he ordered some replacement Brake lines. I didn't advise him what brand etc.... figured he would just research it. Didn't even know he ordered them till he told me.

Anyhow he orders the Rough Country kit. Why not? it's steel braided, cheap and should work for his lift. 3.5" Metal Cloak with Fox shocks/ Reservoirs.

So I get the call last night can you help with installing the brake lines (he only got the fronts). I say sure, I like wrenching on Jeeps and helping people out.

I arrive we check them out they look nice, seem quality. Heck not a bad deal.

Then I measure them. THEY ARE THE SAME LENGTH AS STOCK???? SKU: 89707

I checked against his lines, and even my lines which I KNOW ARE STOCK!!!

His JKU is 2013 mine a 1014. Did Jeep extend the stock brake lines on the fronts? Or is Rough Country that FULL OF SHIT???

I know rough country is a BAD NAMED Product for everything they do but damn how can you sell something for a 4-6" lift and it be the same length as stock lines? Should call them STOCK replacement lines instead. I kinda feel bad for my neighbor.

So to sum up. They are not advertising their product correctly

& Did Jeep put longer brake lines up front?

I wish he could have gotten rear extended brake lines as those are really what he needed. But he just got disconnects and thought he needed extended brake lines there first.

I know about Rough Country just putting this out there for those that don't

I tried to leave a review on their web site and after submitting it. It says it is being sent to moderation for review? WTF??? they know they are crap so they have to block truth full reviews?

Here is what I tried to submit.


I helped a neighbor install these lines. They seem quality and I'm sure they are but THESE WILL NOT WORK FOR A 4-6" LIFT. FALSE ADVERTISING!!!!!! I measured these against his original STOCK lines and against my STOCK lines. They were the same length as STOCK Factory lines.

For stock replacement lines they are a great value but for lifted vehicle like you advertise it is a rip off.

You need to stop your false advertising and put the truth that these are for STOCK replacement not for a lifted vehicle. I feel bad for my neighbor but now he is stuck with your product after being lied to.

Technically he doesn't need new lines. Once you remove the line from the shock bracket it is plenty long for most lifts....

The after market lines aren't supposed to be tied to that same bracket

FYI, the Rock Krawler front brake lines that came with my 3.5" x factor lift are the same exact length as stock as well on my 2014. So, its not just rough country.

2014 JKUR, 3.5" X Factor RK lift, 40" Nitto Trail Grappler's, RIPP supercharger and UD60s.

In 2011 or 2012 Jeep started routing the front brake lines through a bracket on the front coil pad. When you pry that back and free the line you essentially have extended brake lines.

The aftermarket lines have a stainless steel liner on them to protect them and do not route through that bracket. You can run the factory out of the bracket, but you're taking a risk with rubber lines hanging around all of those sharp edges and moving parts.

2011. Same year that they made the ABS sensor wires longer. The wires are actually routed along the brakeline so they made both quite a bit longer. FYI for anyone with a 2007-2010, ask for 2011 or 2012 ABS sensors.
