YES fabric

Anyone have a trick to get blood off the seats? I've tried carpet cleaner, upholstery cleaner, dish soap, stain stick laundry stuff... blood stains still there. I wouldn't mind if it was just a drop or two, but I don't feel like explaining it to people when they get in the back seat.

The YES fabric hype seems to be just that.

Thanks gang,

Duffy

Mopar Total Clean.
Is the vehicle still under warranty?
If so, stained YES fabric IS covered under warranty almost all the time.
There is a bulletin for service to check to see if the stain can be removed, if it cannot the cover should be replaced.

agreed. water repels okay most of the time, anything else just makes the seats look like crap.

seat covers are on my short list for sure.

i prefer an old shag carpet in the trunk.

the above is most likely irrelevant.

Maybe it's the ex-cop in me but it seems the obvious question is, why is there blood all over your seat.

2nd, this guy would know what to do.

3rd, hydrogen peroxide works but I'm afraid you may have set it already with all the other stuff you've tried. (source: I use to own an auto detailing biz)

Covered under warranty? Hmmm... I'll try the peroxide today, but I guess it couldn't hurt to call the dealer tomorrow if it doesn't work. I don't expect it to be perfect just not so blatantly obvious that its blood.

I called The Wolf, but he said I'm on my own as he doesn't like my coffee.

No nifty story to report about how it got there. I had to get the dog to the vet. I threw down an old blanket, but he bled right through it.

Or... it could be zombie splatters from driving through that herd of zombies I hit while saving that smokin' hot chick trapped in an alley.

Thanks all,

Duffy

Peroxide for the win. Close enough anyway. Or maybe it was the combination of chemicals? Dunno, but it looks much better.

What happened you ask? Well, dog has a tumor. Two days before he was scheduled for an operation he decided he wasn't going to wait. Chewed a hole in his own body. Trust me when I tell you, you don't want any more detail. It really is the most disgusting thing I've ever seen... and I've seen plenty. See why I don't want to have to tell people about it when they pile in?

He goes back to the vet. Friday for a cure-him-or-kill-him operation.
Not wanting to sound callous, but the pooch can't continue this way. Hope they can fix him up Friday.

Thanks again,

Duffy

Gotta withdraw my offer to sell my set. After someone expressed interest, I went and retrieved them from the garage.... turns out the right hand seat back cover is missing. Since I didn't inventory these when I retrieved the jeep after the leather seat install, I don't know if it wasn't returned or I misplaced it or what. !%@^# anyway. Sorry.

Last time I had a car with blood covered seats and some one asked me what that was, I told them it was the remnants from the last time someone complained about my car being dirty

If you're gonna be fucking weird, own it.

Sorry about your dog Duff.

Did the peroxide effect your seats besides removing the blood?

The peroxide did the best. There is some discoloration. Just really big darker colored patches. At least it doesn't look like a murder scene now. If I didn't use all the other cleaners first it may have come out even better... dunno.

Thing is, when I picked out the Jeep I wasn't really looking for YES fabric, it just happened to come with it. I thought "Cool I'm kind of a slob. This should come in handy". Then, the first time I got anything more than mud or dust on them they did not perform as advertised. No biggie really, I'm not neat-freak, but I actually thought soap and water would get most of it out. What was I thinking?

Cheers,
Duffy
