Free shower from soft top!!

Maybe its just me but after a rain whenever I open the drivers door all the standing water on the top pours off right in the center of the door opening. If Im lucky I can get in before makes me look like I pissed my pants. My driveway is pretty level. Maybe I should find a slope to park on. Anyone else have this problem?

Yeah, this is one reason I'm glad my driveway is sloped pretty good. Whenever I park on a level surface and it's raining I get soaked getting in and out. No rain gutter on a soft top.

What really sucks is when it goes down the back of your coat collar.

You get used to it eventually.

I thought driving a JK meant your legs were always wet when you got out when it is raining. It's great when you have to meet a client or customer and your thighs are wet.

Lots of ideas. Thanks. I guess I could also take out my carpet and just leave the top down. Then at least it wouldnt be a surprise when I got wet.

Happens to me all the time. My carpets are out. I keep a towel behind the seat to dry off the door panel and armrest after I get in.

the hard tops arent any better. when its raining and you open the door, this nice little stream seems to fall right by the front left corner of the seat. I always get my freaking legs wet trying to get in or out

it may have happened once or twice...
buy a towel, wipe the corner before you get in or out, and practice getting in and out really fast!

Simple fix… I just rock the piss out of the Jeep for a few seconds, and then wait a few more for the water to displace. You will still get wet, but it will be drops instead of a stream!

My jeep does that when the doors are shut, the dealership had it for 20 days trying to stop all the leaks, they put an entire new top on it and all the seals. It worked well until the next time i had my top off and put it back on,now its the same.Im just used to it.As far as getting a shower when you open the door the jeep rep told me that there is no fix for it.I ran a small bead of black caulking down the seam right above the door right on the softtop and it helped a lot.Looks funny but my nuts stay dry getting in and out.haha

I thought this was a design feature?

Seriously though we don't get a lot of rain so I usually forget every time. But I try to park on a slope when possible if its raining. Snow melt is pretty darn cold down the back of your shirt too.

I had a car that was gutterless and that really sucked because you couldn't even open the window the slightest amount without a stream inside the car. At least with the Jeep, I know it isn't hurting the interior.

If I were taller I could go in and out Dukes of Hazzard style. The water only runs off when the door opens. And yes the snow melt is cold!

happens to me nearly every time I'm on a level surface. Thats really the only complaint I have so far. That and the rear tail gate randomly hitting me since my driveway is sorta steep.

The only difference between a design bug and a feature is that a bug just hasn't been documented yet.

And yes, I get this all the time, I just open the door and wait for the bulk of it to run off before getting in/out.
