EVO Rant

****UPDATE****
Not sure if my wife finally made it happen or if ORE finally realized the delay in timeline. Either way I was contacted by ORE and was informed it is/will be shipped out with expedited shipping and they will cover the costs. I consider this to be resolved. Thanks for the offers to help out (via pm’s). See you guys on the trails.

RANT/ I’m probably going to ruffle a few feathers here, but here goes. I seem to have the worst luck with ordering online. I ordered a few things from Off Road Evolution a month and a half ago. I was told it would take about a week to process/make/whatever, then another week roughly to ship. No problem. Remember, a month and a half ago. I had my wife call today (I have crap phone signal) and was told they haven’t even shipped. They are still processing/making/whatever and it will be roughly two more weeks. Anyone see a problem with this besides me. Do I have sand in my vag or is this how off road shops work. Scratch that, my buddy has his own custom shop and is straight up about things so as not to get unrealistic goal/timeline.

Has anyone else ordered from them and had similar experiences. I’m not trying to bash the company as I think they make a great product. It just seems that a call would be in order to inform customers of the greatly expanded timeline. \RANT

We all know that sometimes sh!t happens but if you communicate the issue then 99% of the time it can be smoothed over. I never could understand why more companies don't follow that rule. Keep the customer informed.

Give Andrew or Mel a call and see what they say.

I guess I should have clarified in my original post. I, as in my wife, have called 3 times now. (I say I because she talks to the rep as I type on messenger/IM) She has called because my signal is so crappy where Im at its nearly impossible to hold a conversation without the signal dropping out or the person on the other line hanging up due to the delay. My concerns have been relayed during the calls.

Complete coil over set up. My cell gets routed damn near all the way around the world. The last bounce it takes is through Asia to the west coast. A very noticable delay.

I think the name says it all (H8T2W8T). Not trying to take sides here but dont forget SEMA was during that time frame that you have been waiting for your order. They should have been up front in the turn around time.

I've only placed 2 orders with them in the past. First order shipped same day.... Second order was advised items not in stock, item actually shipped and was received prior to the date they advised it would be available.

Will be placing a 3rd order for the Axle sleeves and Rockstar skids in the next few weeks.....

All in all very satisifed with the products and the company as a whole....

First, I hate you!! Can't wait to see the finished product.

What reason are they giving for the delay? Maybe it is somthing outside of their control? Backordered King shocks or something. Still should tell you.

Should it be H82W8?

Anyway, WTF do you live that your cell is bouncing all over the world?

Good luck with your stuff. Everytime I see EVO on this forum, I think Harley engine.

As someone said, I am sure Sema put them behind schedule. Waiting sucks, but you are going to get your parts - Mel isn't a fly by night shop.

when i was deployed we used computer to call home (net zero voice) because of the lag time in the phone its is very frustarating to wait on a phone for 2 hours and then can barely have a conversation because of the delay.

For the amount of $$ dropped on that, I too would expect to have the service expedited at least. And a call from them to you (or your wife) is 100x better than you having to call looking for an update. I know they are a reputable business, but I would agree on them lacking in your situation. Hope they make it right to you.

I'd be more concerned with not getting shot then delivery of a coilover setup. I don't remember having time to make calls in the Marine Corps. I thought DoD banned cell use in the AOR unless it was encrypted i.e. SmePed

I guess if you spent a good bit of money on something and expected delivery at a certain time, arranged for work to be done on your rig at a custom shop at the specified time you wouldn't be irritated in the least bit when the timeline gets shifted with no explanation?

Getting shot isn't a concern of mine. I run a costume/airsoft store.

I'm bringing this to a close. I was looking for input on other customer delivery times to gauge if I'm getting the shaft or if this was normal for them. I can see it is a longer than normal delivery time, due to whatever. Combine that with no call to give a heads up and I see where a paying customer sits on the priority scale for them. It's ashame because I have read nothing but good things about the products. I have a drop dead time so to speak. If the product hasn't shipped I will get my money back.

I could continue in this thread, but I think it will continue with tangents about what I should be worried about, etc. It's fun, but not the intended purpose.

See you guys at Hard Rock 13 December, hopefully with the EVO setup.

Thanks for your service BTW....

Dudes, we should focus on that and see if we can help him get a clear answer from mel...

anyone on here going to EVO soon that can talk to mel for him? Or anyone have an established relationship with evo that could make a call or something?

lets look at this from a different angle and see if we can help instead. not that you guys were being dicks but there is always another way to look at things and maybe in this case we could go a different way and extend some help to our soldier...
