Yup, extended cab trucks doesnít sell anymore. If it doesnít have 4 doors, your screwed. Kind like us guys with 2 door Jeeps. Resale on these is like taking a shot to the nuts. 3.8 stick, forget about it.

Iíve thought about keeping the Jeep and getting a 3/4 ton. Move the family around, tow rig, but the thought of having 2 vehicles, for just me, bothers me.

And when did Jeeps get so GD high on purchase price. Mildly optioned Rubicon wrangler is approaching $50k and the truck just over. F250 diesel, granted an STX, can be all in for the same pricing. Hopefully the Bronco will help deter Jeep sales so the price sort of comes down.

I'd never look at another 3.8.

I don't know the sales numbers, but it's my favorite cab config. (no crotchfruit to haul).

I have a Jeep and a 3/4 ton, and am considering ditching both for that overpriced Lego limo

No shit!

- these two trucks are within a couple hundred bucks MSRP at $55K and change:

If I didn't need to squeeze down tight trails, I'd value the Gladiator 5-10 grand under that Raptor any day.

Extra cab, 5.5' bed, oodles o' horsetorks, factory 35s, rear locker / front LSD
- do that in a Glad He Ate Her, and I'll throw the $55K at you

Don't forget the coil overs. The only thing the JT has on it is the top comes off.

That, and a solid front axle and less-porky width.

The only deal killers on the Raptor for me are:
  • Too damned wide
  • Maybe too fast (I'd probably get tickets on the street)

But, feature-for-feature, that's 10-15 grand more value in my semi-reality.

I think a JTR with the options I want would be a decent deal at $45K; and it's ethics more than economics that gives me pause at $55K.

Competition is good for the consumer, and Jeep needs some damned competition in this market segment.
I hope the Bronco knocks Jeep's dick in the dirt a little (because price-gouging assholes ).

Dear Ford,
Please offer an extra cab Bronco Raptor pickup ASAP

The front axle on the JL, JT is a POS. An IFS is much better at speed while the solid axle shines in the big rocks. Most would be better off with an IFS.

I also am put off by the lazy design of the JT. Let's just cut a JL off behind the back seat and throw a bed on it. The rear door openings and the fenders just look dumb and it's a mile long. If you are going to have that little rear door opening it would have been cool to have done the hinges on the back of the the rear door to open it all up and make it easier to get in the back seat. There was so much potential in this vehicle and they failed.

To me the JT is nothing more then a Wrangler truck and not a Gladiator truck. I feel that FCA dropped the ball by not creating something truly unique for the Jeep line up.

I love my Wrangler, but I don't feel the need for every Jeep crated to be based on it's looks, just look at most of the concept vehicles. I think they should have made the vehicle a modernized classic Gladiator truck. Even if they want to base it on the Wrangler frame but throw in independent front and rear suspension for desert racing. Anyway, I believe they would be raking in the cash even more doing just that.

I really hope Jeep was wanting to put out a truck as cheap/easy as they could just to gauge sales. If they sell good, it would be nice to see a redesign in a couple years to a truck built as a truck from the ground up.

With what they have now, they could literally sell a kit to truckafiy any Jeep.
