Sad news indeed.

Like others, Iím a new guy round these parts but this fellow is one of a handful that Iíve had some interaction with.

Iíve gone back and read many of his post, upstanding and caring are a couple of descriptions that come to my mind.
The Jeep community is a lesser place without him.

I don't really participate in too many convos here but I read most everything. Allan was one that always stuck out out as knowledgeable, respectful when due and funny as hell! Like most of you!
Always sad to hear.
Thank you for your service!
Rest in Peace Allan.
Best wishes to your wife during this awful time!

Sad to read this. Glad that he and his wife did not have to go through that home/hospice crap. Loosing someone is hard enough.

Family and friends in thoughts.

Wow. This hits hard. I have been an on-again off-again participant on this forum, but Allan was one who took time out of his day to PM me about various Jeep and personal topics. I haven’t been on here since probably March of last year, and after seeing this very sad post, I went back and checked my messages, and the last one I had from him was last March.

Very, very sad... I have no words.

R.I.P. RubiCajun

Among my relatively few posts were some pleasant exchanges with R-C. I had missed that he hadn't posted or replied in a while, but one knows how life pulls us into different interests, or family obligations, whatever...

My deepest condolences to his family. May Allan rest in peace.

Allan Jones (RUBICAJUN)

Since we lost Allan Jones (RUBICAJUN) I have been looking for ways to stop having anxiety or being depressed about events that I have no control over. Allan was a very good friend and he helped me when my wife was very ill and passed several years ago. Now I have all kinds of things that somehow cause me to have anxiety. Example, Pelosi, Schumer, Cortez, Omar. Democrats, national debt, rinos, the deficit, and fake news. Oh btw, Fox just hired Dona Brazil. The next thing you know is you start having anxiety about having anxiety. The best bourbon in the world won't help you with that kind of shit. So, in an effort to cut down on anxiety and possible depression I found a book that has helped me. The Subtle art of not giving a fuck by Mark Manson. Now if some asshole brags about having a better Jeep than I do, I don't give a fuck. I could do something stupid like spending 50K to get a new Jeep, but I like my 2007 with lockers, sway bar release, and all kinds of other shit. So what is the point here? The actuaries predict that I will only live another 120 months. Since I can't do much about that, I don't give a fuck. What I do give a fuck about is my family, my faith and my friends. I miss Allan. He was one of the main reasons I enjoyed being on here with you, my friends.

Very sad to hear. RubiCajun and I had some back and forth on the forum and seemed to be mostly on the same page. Wish I could have met him in person. He will be missed.

Condolences and Godspeed.

Just noticed this, I havenít been real active lately since the kids are getting older and chasing them and their sports and such. Hell this is pretty sad, he was an icon from the early days and he definitely had some truly epic posts, comments or witty comebacks for any and all.

From watching my grandmother go through the copd and now my mother who is still in denial I can say that Iíd rather go quickly thatís for damn sure. Maybe we can start a thread of his best posts or something, he had a great sense of humor and served us all well, RIP.

Sad news indeed. I havenít been here in a awhile and Rubicajun crossed my mind a couple of weeks ago when I was down in Big Bend NP and I recalled the trip several of you made down there with Allan. Decided to check into JKO today and saw this thread from several months ago. Like others we PMíd back and forth several times. He was one good guys and will be missed. Words seem empty and inadequate in situations like this.

RIP RubiCajun.
