Alberta members - post where you're from and anything else you want to.

Just thought I'd start this thread to see how many Alberta members we have out there.

I live in Okotoks (basically a suburb of Calgary) and I own a 2010 Rubicon.
I've taken the Rubi out four wheeling (McLean Creek) once so far (Whiskeyjack and I went out in September), and if anybody is interested in going out for some more fun, give me a shout. (I'm not a newbie to offroading.... been out many times in my Chevy S-10 ZR2)

So far I've installed new rims (Ultra Drifter 8" x 17" with 4-7/8 bs), new Goodyear Duratrac 285/70/17 tires, IPF headlights, installed a mesh screen grill insert (made it out of a fireplace screen... fits perfectly), I have a new pair of ACE rock rails in my garage that I plan on bolting on this weekend (edit - now installed), I have a Daystar dash tray on order...
- edit: installed

as well as set of JK-RiGrip grab handles for the front (on order through Ebay)
- edit: installed

Here's a pic of my Jeep right now with the ACE rock rails installed

Future mods...

-Get WhiskeyJack over to show me how to mod my front fender marker lights so they flash on and off with the turn signal
-Poison Spyder diff covers (front and back) - edit: changed my mind and am now going with the Riddler diff covers
-Poison Spyder Evap skid plate - got the very similar River Raider skid plate (just have to paint and install it)
-Winch bumper
-Winch (might steal the T-max winch off my S-10 ZR2)
-Rock Krawler 2.5" or 3.5" lift
-Superchips Flashpaq
-Smiling Bobs Breather Extension Kit - sitting in my garage waiting for me to install
-Flip sway bar disco motor

OK, I will start. I am from Houston, but currently working in Calgary. I did not bring the JK up, but wish I had. I miss it, and know I will miss it much more when winter hits. I am here until May, 2011. I have been here 2 weeks and have already been to an Oilers game (in Edmonton) and a Hitmen game. Looking forward to a Flames game. Have a good Rememberance day eh.

Live/work in St. Albert. Have a 2009 Unlimited JK (X) that is slowly getting some mods. Duratrac 285.70.17's on the stock wheels with spidertrax spacers, Warn M8000 winch on a Rugged Ridge XHD front bumber. Superchips tuned, and just installed a CB for wheelin with the NA4WD.ORG guys.

Doing the evap skid shortly, and maybe a couple cosmetic mods.

Might do lockers in a year or two depending on how much dirt I get into. Don't see me modding much more than that though.

Yep, working for the guys in Red. I am driving a front wheel drive car here, and each venture out into the snow and ice suuuuuuucks. I really wish I had the JK, but my buddies from here warned that bringing a half door with a soft top would not be a good idea in -40. I live in a condo complex with a heated garage, so I really think I would have been OK. Anyway, good luck with the marriage/time thing! I will be in Nisku the first week of December, so PM me if you are up for earl's or The Keg one day after work.

Rocky Mountain House, AB
So far only broke front drivers axle at the U-joint
Replaced with RCV performance CV
Front drivers fender and half of bumper are held on with zip-ties
So probably fenders and front bumper next time I feel rich

Crazy trails around here to bad their shutting down so many areas

2008 Black Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited RCV Performance CV front axles 2-12" Alpine Type S goes almost anywhere, LOUDLY

My name is W squared, I live in Calgary, and I'm a Jeepaholic. Sorry, wrong meeting.

Rerun, bthibodeaux, and whiskeyjack - you guys should come out with the Calgary Jeep Association. If you like, I'm running an "open" run on New Year's day out in Waiparous. You'll find the invite thread posted in the "Open Runs" section of our board:

www.calgaryjeep.com

Provided that your rigs meet the basic requirements (I don't see any issues there ) and you're willing to sign a simple waiver then you're welcome to come along. If you have a good time, you may even want to come out to one of our meetings. We are always open to new members that are a good "fit" with our club's goals...promoting responsible wheeling, and having a good time wheeling!

Good you Dan, I see ACE 2011 is posted.

I finally repaired the driverside mirror. The mirror got ripped out of the door when I got hung up on some trees, Alex and I were scouting a new trail about 3 weeks ago. As it warmed up in the afternoon the trail became very slick.

Jeep needs a wash I know (test fitting)

Its been painted and bolted in, after I wash the jeep I will take some photos.

Trust me, in the long run the Jeep will cost you more in mods than the divorce will!

Coming to Alberta in June with the wife for a vacation work trip. I run a jeep club in Dallas/Ft. Worth called TexasJK and I'd love to see some wheelin' north of the border. I'm actually getting a quote to ship my JK round trip but I doubt it will be remotely cost effective. Is there any place to rent a descently built JK while there to hit some trails?

07 JK 2DR w/enough upgrades to have a serious good time!

Don't know any place in Calgary that rents Jeep Wranglers (let alone a "built" wrangler). There are however, lots of places that rent quad atvs.... not as good as a Jeep I grant you... but...
