Montreal -> Bethel on Thursday AM...

So, who's driving down?

I'm thinking a late lunch in Bethel, followed by "inspection-line-up-watching" around 3pm or so? :-)

Any takers for a drive down?

Weather's looking ok (according to AccuWeather). Not great, but ok. :-) A bit on the cool side for Saturday, so bring some layers (and good waterproof/rubber boots -- it's been raining).

Thursday: Mostly cloudy. 22/8C
Friday: Showers possible. 18/4C
Saturday: Cooler with some sunshine. 13/2C
Sunday: A shower possible. 13/2C

Simon, are ya going topless? :-D

Any prefs for a lunch spot? Maybe get there by 1pm or so?

Viking mentioned meeting us along the 10 as well. (I think he is staying on the east side of Montreal Wed night).
I just need a time to be at the meeting spot.

Didn't we meet *next* to the place we were supposed to meet? Are we jumping the fence this year and actually meeting at the proposed meeting place? Or do we meet where we met, next to the original meeting place?

:-D

Well, if Simon doesn't need to pickup stuff from Freeport (which I may pickup for him on Wednesday afternoon, if I have space in the truck), then do we suppose it'll take 4 hrs from our meeting place?

If we want to get there by 1pm and have a little lunch (maybe drop our bags at the hotel), then may I suggest 9:00am at the latest? Let's not forget that we (should) loose a bit of time at the border...

I cant remember what time we met last year.
You're right the "meeting place" didnt exist anymore so I waited at the parking lot beside which worked well enough.
Same place works, anytime too 9:00 sounds good.
I will send the location to Viking (Dennis) and see if he can meet us there too.

Took me a while to find the info -- it turns out we had organized it on "that other site". :-)

It was exit 29 on highway 10 at 8:00am. That was probably a bit early, but at the time I wasn't too sure how those 35" LTBs would fare on the highway. :-) Since then, I think I've gotten used to that 'driving a boat' feeling, and often do 110 kph with 'em (120 is a bad idea though). :-) I _am_ looking forward to going back on my regular MT tires -- after this week-end. :-D

It looks like Google Maps has updated their satellite images. This looks like a St-Hubert: +45° 24' 48.40", -73° 14' 24.11" (45.413445, -73.240030), and this looks like a Burger King and gas station: +45° 24' 44.74", -73° 14' 25.32" (45.412428, -73.240368). What do you think? Burger King?

BK for breakfast - now you're talking!

9am is good for us. Remember I'll also need to spend a little bit of time at the border - they're still cavity searching Brits at the border.

Oh and listen on CB 4 - you'll know when we're arriving...

See ya!
