So Iam going to be installing some new EVO sliders ( weld on ) . Iam no welder so have to hire done . My question is what type welding is best , ie.
Stick weld, mig etc for this job. Want to have it done right first time don't you know.. Thanks
Not a damn thing wrong with stick welding so long as it's done correctly. I also prefer stick myself.
Make sure the guy doing the welding takes a few test runs on similar steel pieces to make sure his settings are dialed in correctly.
Make sure he's got the proper electrodes for what you'll be doing. If there are any "out of position" welds to be done, he'll need to use a wire rated for that.
Nothing wrong with stick. The guy that is teaching me to weld actually prefers to stick weld, but he is damn good with it and can whip weld like nobody's business.
Tried stick and I honestly need more practice, so would prefer to use mig.
