For the install of the IPF H4 Conversion kit, there are only a few tools needed as this is a fairly easy install:
> Small flat blade screwdriver
> T15 Torx driver - thin shafted
> Dielectric Grease
You start by removing the grill. There are six plastic retainers that hold the top of the grill to the upper radiator support.
Some people can get lucky with a phillips head bit on a drill and get the center screw to back out, but chances are, you're just going to use your flat blade screwdriver to pry it out:
After you've pried out the center screw, you can then pop out the whole retainer:
Remove all six retainers, and slowly pull the top of the grill towards you. You're going to hear a pop that might make you think you broke something, but that's only the metal retainers popping loose:
Next you're going to disconnect the turn signals. Easiest way is to just remove the bulb from the housing. Turn each bulb towards the ground (looking down, counter clockwise for the driver's side, clockwise for the passenger side) and let it hang.
Driver's:
Passenger:
Looking down, you can see the lower metal retainers. There are four along the bottom edge of the grill, and one each near the two turn signals. These will all have likely popped loose when you pulled the grill forward, but if not, make sure each one is loose:
After that the grill simply lifts out, and you get to the bare front end of the Jeep:
Each headlight is retained by a metal ring, and there are four T15 Torx screws holding on the retaining ring, remove the four screws.
Once those screws have been removed, you can pull the whole housing forward. There isn't much slack to pull the headlight out, so remove the headlight from the housing and put the housing aside:
To remove the headlight from the harness, first unlock the red locking tab:
Then press the green tab, and remove the headlight from the harness:
Next, take the rounded end of the IPF H4 adapter harness and apply a little dielectric grease:
