My aunt lives in frankfort and i have some buddies in bloomfield...I don't know of many trails around the state...I think there are few in Daniel Boone National Forrest...and there is Turkey Bay at LBL down around hopkinsville.

I used to ride with some guys from Jeepcrazed (which I dont think is around anymore) when I had the old YJ but I sold it a few years ago and just a couple months ago got back into a Jeep again, so I havent been out with the JK yet. How about you?

Just getting into all this really - not gone wheeling yet....K&I is the big club, but I knew Max from MOAB back in the day so I'll probably end up just going out with those guys. Big K&I event tomorrow @ the Bass Pro Shops. "Off-Road Parking"...Should be a bunch of Jeeps out there. Around noon is when it's supposed to be in full swing. Max and those guys will be out there too.

Frankfort, Ky here!
I too am looking for off road areas... nothing mud boggin' or rock crawling... just a good drive with some challenges.
I did however find a road last sunday....
It started off like a back country road... nice drive thru farms and fields and some trees.... a nice high ridge on one side.
Well... it turned into a muddy deep rutted challenge found in the 4wd magazines! LOL
With my stock 09' sahara I had to turn around. I was advised by two atv'ers that my stock jeep would probably not make it. they did offer to stay near us in case we don't make it.... lol I thanked them and turned around! LOL
I will try and get some kind of map info for you all, in my next post here!
If you guys find it and try it... let me know.

DIRECTIONS TO THE MUDDY ROAD

This road I found from the post above... is called Severn Creek Road in Owen County. It travels between Rt 355 Gratz Road and Rt 127 Owenton Road.
I found it at the Rt 355 end.. and traveled a nice distance until I could not go any further. (with my stock Sahara and new jeep driver)
It is near a bridge going over the Severn Creek, right next to the Kentucky River. The entry is across from an old ruins of a home... chimneys are the only thing left.
ONce you enter it.... it is a neat drive.... it opens to a old country house sitting all by itself on the right... and a small wooden bridge. Cross the bridge and the road narrows quite a bit and within minutes it is rutted and muddy.
I have to admit I turned around... new jeep, new jeep driver, no ropes, no winch not even a shovel and not driving with another jeep.
Let me know if anyone tries this... and even better if you did the whole route.
Ralph

Did you enter it from the 127 side or the 355 side?

I have no clue if you are gonna like it or if it is a challenge for you. I have no idea how it all is, throughout the entire road...
I felt I challenged myself and I was fine with turning around... LOL (baby steps for now)
