Cruise Control problem!

So on my 2007 JK I have lately been experiencing a cruise control CANCEL issue.

The symptoms are:

1) Cruise is SET
2) Pull the cruise lever towards driver to CANCEL (disengage cruise) and it doesn't disengage.
3) Pull cruise lever and hold in the CANCEL position. After a few seconds the cruise goes off completely and requires and engine restart cycle (ignition off. wait. restart.) to allow it to be turned back on.

At any time, tapping the brake pedal releases the cruise control so it is not a safety issue (yet), just an annoyance issue with having to cycle the engine to allow the cruise to be turned back on.

Now the above steps (two and three) are intermittent (naturally). On my last trip back from Houston I caused the problem three times! in one 2 hour stretch of driving, and finally caught the circumstances. It doesn't always happen; sometimes the cancel works several times in a row.

So, anyone else having a strange cruise issue you can't explain, or hopefully, similar symptoms?

I would call my dealership and make a warranty repair appointment. Gotta love warranties.
