I will say that I'm interested and would have probably bought it in the 450 range. I'd have to sell of the Shrockworks set up that would obviously be at a loss and then buy this and it would have been easier to get over the edge if it were under 550 shipped. I'd have to buy a rear bumper without a carrier also. It's damn nice though.

I would have a better time believing the video if they would have sat the tire up also as it really looks like it rests on the bumper when closed.

Anyone want a Shrockworks set up? Lol

I think its a pretty cool, innovative product. For those who want a tire carrier that is not noticeable and takes the weight off the tail gate, its cool. I also like haw you can but it for less if you want a 35" or less tire, but upgrade it if you go to a bigger tire.
As too price, some thing like this probably takes more $$ to develop than bend and weld tire carrier. I like it.

I'm not buying it, regardless of price. It would be nice if all these people that want to play but not to pay would shut up and go get the JCR package or an OR-FAB that they keep mentioning.

Teraflex should move this to Vendor's Marketplace where this kind of garbage posting isn't tolerated (the vendors' equivalent of tech).

Awesome product, a little pricey.....I mention the price because if I were a vendor posting a new product I would want to know what improvements people are looking for. Obviously a product with a lot of engineering and time developing it will be expensive I understand their reasoning for the cost. So, Teraflex cool product love it, will hopefully buy it one day but would need the price to go down to get it.

There is something that we the consumers can do and that is not purchase it. It is the consumers that drive the market. This product was introduced on multiple forums and received the exact same comments on all of them. How is stating that they like the product but feel its too expensive bitching?

Yes, Teraflex did mislead potential customers by stating the price before pre-order would be $499. Then announcing an additional $260 worth of accessories would be required to delete the stock carrier and run larger than a 35" spare.

If you don't want to hear folks opinions, don't read read them, and don't bash them for posting them. They have as much right to post what they think as you do. And I'm pretty sure that if TeraFlex didn't want honest feedback they wouldn't post a product announcement in an open forum, so get bent. Just my opinion.

Oh yeah, and it's a very expensive product that I won't be purchasing, especially when I could get a carrier/bumper combo for that price range.

I've been quiet for a few days...looks like about 95% of people agree with me. Great innovative product. Waaay too much for a glorified bracket. Don't give a shit how much money was put into this thing. Of all the planning and R&D a $700+ price tag should have caused someone to blink in that conference room.

I paid less for my bumper/tire carrier combo and I added a front bumper for $30 more than this one little thing costs.

If you would like to only run a 35" tire, then you can run just the #4838130 JK HD Adjustable Spare Tire Mounting Kit $199.99. This piece will allow you to set the height and depth of how your spare tire is mounted to the tailgate. If your a more aggressive off road driver, you'll find that in the long run you will want the HD Hinged Tire Carrier also for better support. These will be out mid June, pre-production pieces will be in very soon. These will also come with a license plate holder/ 3rd brake light kit.

I don't get it...isn't the whole point to take the weight off of the stock hinges? I know some ppl run 35s with good luck but eventually it will fail. Buying this isn't changing anything??

For the mall crawler crowd not wanting to pony up and buy their carrier or any other bumper/carrier option they can just buy the adjustable tire mount to which will do a better job of handling a larger heavier spare than the flimsy aluminum carrier the factory provides.
