Jerry Can Spouts....

First off:

Now that is out of the way....

I am about to purchase one of the old style flexible steel "Donkey Dong" spouts that fit the Blitz 5gal cans and wanted to get some feedback before I buy it. I found one and did a search for comments and there were several complaints about it leaking...

This is it, looks just like what I used while in the Army but a smaller spout vs the JP/Diesel spout. I presume that if the gasket is in good shape it should be good to go. It is only $8.... I might just get one and test it out.

I have found several others that will fit but they are not compatible with the unleaded gas filler tubes.

Is anyone using a dependable flexible steel style spout and where did you get it?

Standard Blitz jerry can

2" hole

Its real simple, you hold the hanle of the can with one hand, you squeeze down the green thing with one hand, and you hold up the bottom of the can with the other hand.

Its kind of the same as using a newer model skill saw, you need 3 hands.

HF for the win. I'll take pics tonight. It is the opposite thread, but it fits my cans!
It uses the weight of the gas to put pressure on the mechanism to open the flow so you don't need the 3rd hand (but if you have one, take a pic so we can all laugh).

You can still get some scepter cans here. http://cgi.ebay.com/Scepter-Military...item41503b7ba9

and get a spout for unleaded fuel from DS Tactical https://dstactical.com/product_info....products_id=61
DS can not ship scepter cans to the States anymore, but can ship accessories.

I bought 4 cans just cause they are getting so hard to find.

Thanks for the links! But WOW! $75 + $23 shipping for 2 USED cans... I have a couple Scepter water cans; I wonder if they're close enough to carry fuel in??

I wouldnt try putting fuel into the water cans. The plastic is a different comp. The $75. for two used ones is not that bad when you consider the cheapest new ones go for over $80. each when you can find them. The used ones still have lots of life to them. Have seen new ones go for over $100. each on ebay.
